In just over a month since the 29th of April Liz and I have:
Spent time lounging around in Bali.
Dived with giant manta-rays, and walked with deadly dragons in the Komodo National Park.
Experienced a military coup in Bangkok.
Immersed ourselves in the revolutionary history of Paris, sampled Michelin Star menus in Bourges, and gazed in wonder at the ancient theatrical ruins of Lyon, France (visiting family along the way).
Hiked through the Swiss Alps on a snow capped yet warm summer's day.
But all of this has only been in preparation of what lies ahead:
A 1008 km walk along the Via Francigena, from Col Du Grand-Saint-Bernard on the Swiss/Italian border to ROME. That's right. ROME!
The trials and tribulations inherent in such an undertaking are to be meticulously (or not) recorded on Liz's Blog:
A Really Long Walk To Rome
For two unfit people who don't really have any experience of long distance walking this will be a most interesting endeavour. Stay tuned!
